Free t shirt watch: Heartbreak
Guess what, readers? There’s no free t shirt this week. I’m as broken up about it as you are, but I guess you can’t do anything about getting swindled on the internet.
Here’s how it went down: I found a great offer on a site called Tryspree (not linking out of protest) for a Virginia Cavman’s Crew t shirt. It even came with membership vouchers to what I assume is a very exclusive club at the University of Virginia. All for free? Sign me up.
But then things went south. Turns out, you have to subscribe to Tryspree for $3 a month to get this deal. That’s not a free t shirt. That is a t shirt that I will pay $3 for now, and then inevitably forget to stop paying for. The shirt would probably end up costing me $15, which is a very normal price for a t shirt and not at all the point of this column.
Maybe next time I’ll find the real deal. Keep your eyes peeled y’all.
