     She complied immediately, fat tears rolling down the little girl’s cheeks as she allowed herself to be drawn into the ancient knight’s hold. Little sobs and hiccups escaped the young witch as she curled into Link’s hold, shaking as the gash on her leg caused a series of painful stings to emanate from the wound. It wasn’t terribly serious in the grand scheme of things, but for a little girl, it was as dire as a broken bone.

     “It h-h-huuuuurts,” Lyna whimpered, pressing her face into Link’s chest while his hand rubbed soothing circles upon her back, rocking the little girl gently. She should’ve been more careful while she’d been running down the hill, and truthfully, the tumble that she’d taken had probably scared her more than anything else.

     “Shhh, I know. I’ve got you.” She was lifted up as if she were nothing, and little arms moved to loop themselves around the specter’s neck, clinging to him the way that a child might to a parent when they needed comfort.

     For whether Link realized it or not, he’d certainly earned the title of father from one little girl.
