WHY TF IS DRAGON COLBY A LOLITA?!
Been a little while since I posted on the blog; fieldwork has been keeping me busy, but will try to keep uploading photos when I can.
Walnut Sphinx moth (Amorpha jugulandis), Newark DE. July 2017.
As caterpillars, walnut sphinx moths can be found at dusk on the edges of leaves of their particular host plant. Their bodies appear to be covered in little white granules, which are believed to afford them some protection against parasitic wasps. Although they prefer black walnut (Juglans nigra) and hickories in the Mid-Atlantic, they can be found feeding on many other species of hardwood trees, such as alder, birch, cherry, chestnut, hazel, and hop hornbeam. This caterpillar was reared on mockernut hickory (Cayra tomentosa).
Multiple generations in the eastern US; two in the Mid-Atlantic. Adults emerge in late spring, with caterpillars to follow by May or June, and adults to appear again mid-Summer through August. Caterpillars overwinter as pupae.
Commission from back in January that I never got around to uploading; model is @cayra's charming "old man" kitty, Benito. — view on Instagram http://ift.tt/2yfVNP5

Identity definitions and "borders" are difficult! I still sometimes get a confused, surreal feeling about being an out trans person. I'm glad you were able to access the care you needed, and I hope that you will find whatever community support you may want in the future!
Thank you! The lines around identities are really so very personal and subjective, I found it hard to even articulate my dilemma to people in a way they’d understand. And then add the imposter syndrome on top... well, I think it’s hard for all of us.

Thank you so much for putting this into words. A lot of it rings very true with my own experience, especially the 'trans enough' and negative identity parts...
Thank you for reading! I’m glad it resonates with you; I was kind of wondering once I’d finished it if I was being at all intelligible....

*extremely excited noises*
The two of them are just so ridiculous. I mean, on the one hand we have the shining example of Goodness, and on the other the most determinedly well-adjusted person ever, and they /still/ manage to start out by pining at each other. Briefly, I trust, but still.
Any new snippet of NiF fic you write fills me with endless delight; but still I have to ask: will there be more Lin Chen? I mightily crave some LC fic.
Lin Chen has not put in another appearance, yet, so I have no idea. But I have a hard time imagining he /won’t/ show up in the capital, at some point, to mock everyone and push things off metaphorical tables, because if any character is more of a cat than Lin Shu, it’s Lin Chen.

*whale noises* Omg you’re evil, this is too adorable.
They do pay for it with some sharp “omg you idiots” angst, but yeah, once they get going they’re just unspeakably cute.
cayra replied to your post: Cai is hilarious to write
*chortles* Sounds like this is going to turn out positively epic. <3
I keep /trying/ to write the next bit as, say, linked shorts, and it keeps not working! There are just too many Things that all tie in together, and so many people involved, and even getting to some basic, like, /touching/ seems to have to get there through a boatload of politics and research. I’m only complaining a little. ^_^
