About the NSFW Edition of the Zine

At this time, to prevent those who are under the age of eighteen from accessing the NSFW Zine, we are only distributing access to it through Discord Servers where many 18+ members of the fandom reside.

That means in order to find the NSFW Zine, you will need to be a member of one of these social servers AND verified by the Mods of that server to have access to the NSFW channels. If you are not in a server that meets those conditions, a friend might be who can obtain the login for the NSFW Zine and pass it on to you. We are trusting that adults in the fandom will only share with other adults, to protect both minors in the fandom and the adults who contributed to the Zine. The last option would be if you are mutuals or friends with Mod Star, who will be happy to give you the login for the NSFW Zine if you message her directly. Please note that the SFW Zine is still the MAIN focus of this project and has significantly more content to enjoy, and that the NSFW Zine was done as an extra because enough participants wanted to contribute to it. The NSFW Zine is just an extra bonus for those who are definitely adults in the fandom! We may change NSFW Zine distribution at a later date, but this is how it is being distributed at the moment. We appreciate the questions and we are happy to explain further if anyone is still unsure about it!

where can i buy the physical copy of the sfw zine,

Hello! Right now one of the Mods behind the project has ordered physical copies of the Zine to distribute first to people who contributed to the Zine.

Afterwards, a very small number of leftover copies of the physical book will be available for sale to the general public. We post all of our updates on our Twitter first, and here second.

So if you're looking to get your hands on a very limited edition physical copy, give us a follow on Twitter! That way you can get the shop link as soon as they are available. The actual platform you will be able to purchase one of these limited copies on might be Mod Star's Ko-Fi shop, though this is still being finalized and might change!

Hi, I just heard about the zine today as it posted! Whoo! I was wondering how we get access to the nsfw version? Thanks, and happy new year!!!

Hello! We've gotten a LOT of questions about this in our inbox so we'll try to keep it short and simple! Right now, because we do not feel comfortable with the idea of minors freely downloading this other version of the Zine we are ONLY distributing the access to it via some of the popular UT Fandom Discord Servers that have channels that are ID verified.

That means your best chances of finding the NSFW Zine at this time, are to be in some of the UT Fandom's 18+ Discord servers, or have a friend who is in one and has seen the post and can pass on the information to you.

In the future we may look into other means of distributing the NSFW Zine, but for now this is the best way we can protect both minors in the fandom as well as the adult artists/writers who contributed to the project. Have a happy, Cherryberry filled New Year!

If I want to participate with a NSFW piece, but you've already checked my ID because I'm in your server, do I have to submit it again?

Hello!

If the host of the zine (Star) has already ID checked you for her NSFW side of her servers then you wouldn’t need to worry about ID verification again. Simply mark that on the future application that you are in fact over the age of 18 years old and Star will take care of the rest for you as long as she recognizes your Tumblr/Twitter/Discord name.

If you changed your name, or are applying under an alternate name, you can use the ‘extra information’ box we’ll be providing on the application to mention the name Star knows you by. If you’re still not sure, feel free to message her on Twitter (starfruitarts)!

will there be merch we can get?

Ideally, yes! The host of the zine owns a 1.5in Round Metal Button Press, which makes high quality buttons much like you’d find at conventions! The host wants to make buttons for Red and Blue, possibly separate but they could be designed to be facing each other. This is all later down the zine road though!

Vinyl Stickers are also something being looked into, since the host has printed a number of vinyl sticker designs through multiple companies based in the USA and would have no issue adding those to be bundled with any future books.

Currently, nothing like Acrylic Charms or Enamel Pins is in the plan. That could change as the host becomes more familiar with other merchandise options with her personal projects, but at this time the Zine is only looking to do maybe buttons and stickers for very, very cheap (cost of individual production and shipping only!)

* Any possible merch is also planned to be purchased out of the host’s pocket, and we will not be doing pre-orders or funding for them. If they are made, we’ll simply advertise where you can buy them and ship them by hand after they’re a real item in the host’s hands.

(Note from Host Star: “Usually I’ve sold vinyl stickers at the low price of $2 each for regular, and $3 each for holographic and free shipping because I own lots of stamps and thank you cards. The stickers for the zine would cost maybe $1-$2 each if I am able to handle making them! My stickers are always 3 to 4 inches tall and weatherproof outdoors up to three years.” )

Will the printed zine be SFW only or will there be NSFW content too in it?

Great question!

At this time, the nearly-guaranteed goal is to print the SFW submissions in their own neat and tidy SFW book that anyone can safely own and proudly display in front of their friends and family! (as long as they don’t mind skeletons maybe holding hands or smooching a little bit)

( Note from Mod Star: “Think of it like an art book! I believe MnstrCndy released an art book that was a compilation of all their art from their time drawing for the Undertale fandom and was SFW. We’re going to make something similar to that.” )

At this time, the host is researching a printing company willing to print explicit NSFW books with very minimal censorship, the finer details about printing will be announced and combed through later on once the project is closer to completion.

The ebook / pdf is essentially guaranteed to come first and for free, with the physical prints of both versions to be a secondary release for dedicated fans to grab a copy of after they’re in the host’s hands. Once again, there will be no pre-orders, the host is paying for this out of her personal savings! No investment on the participant’s part!

The short answer is that SFW and NSFW books will be separate publications, you -should- be able to purchase in a bundle if you are 18+.

will the nsfw version of the zine be posted, and will people need to show ID to see it, just like how creators have to show ID to contribute?

Hello!

We just answered a very similar ask. In short, we won't be checking ID for every single download.

However, we are looking into password protecting the download link and only distributing the finished zine to NSFW Discord Servers and under a private Twitter account.

Adult fans are free to share the password and download link with whoever they want, but we just don't want to be responsible for minors accessing it when they will already have the entire SFW zine to enjoy!

Will the NSFW zone be available on Twitter? Or will we had to ask for a link or something

It will most likely be hosted as a .pdf on a website like Gumroad for free.

However we're also considering password protected download links on other cloud services similar to Dropbox or Google Drive.

To reduce concerns about minors accessing the NSFW version, the completed NSFW zine links will most likely be heavily distributed and advertised inside NSFW Discord Servers only or on a private Twitter account. We will largely depend on the UT Community to help us spread it to the correct fans ^_^

This could change in the future however, these are just the initial plans and the zine won't be completed for at least a few months between applications, content, and layout assembly! We'll also be open to suggestions and ideas from participants later on within the zine's Discord.
