I find Jasper's awkward smile in this part of the episode cute.
It makes me think he was willing to pretend everything was fine and that he wasn't traumatized by what he'd just experienced so as not to ruin Davey's happy moment. In my opinion, he was genuinely happy for his friend.
But of course, then the Quartermaster took away his badge for something stupid, and that was the last straw, the thing that made him absolutely hate camp.

During his childhood and adolescence, he was forced to go to therapy, but as soon as he turned 18, he stopped.
The reason he quit therapy was because he was constantly being changed psychologists and was regularly hospitalized, which made him feel that the therapy wasn't working and that they couldn't help him.
He continued taking medication, but in an uncontrolled and inconsistent manner, and he also began using non-prescription pills illegally.
He suffered an overdose and was hospitalized again.
After that, he stopped taking medication completely, suffered severe withdrawal, and fell into a deep depression.
He became addicted to alcohol and marijuana, and later got a job at Camp Campbell.
He has depression, ADHD, and disorganized attachment.
He has not received medication or adequate psychological care for six years, and he lacks a reliable support network.
Based on a conversation with a friend, where he told me that Davey's hair was egg-shaped.
