I’ve been doing a little bit of building, working on that corner of Simford, (thanks for the nice comments by the way), and although I’m not decorating the lots as such, I have been getting a bit distracted. For example, I’ve started on a set of conversions from Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments to make a butcher’s shop last week, and today, I decided I had to do something about the community phone. For ever now, I’ve been hiding the phone inside, using a cover that I got from Parsimonious, but this afternoon, I decided that I wanted to replace the mesh with a new one, one which was more in keeping with the era my neighbourhood is set in, but which I could put on each community lot without things looking weird. After a bit if thought, I came up with this: a hitching post. The mesh is originally part of a TS3 mesh, but I’ve hacked it down to make it look like the sort of hitching post you would have seen in the 19th century. I’ve done a little testing, and it seems to be working well. It is a little tricky to get used to, since you have to click on the ring to make a call, recolour it (I’ve made two recolours too), or pick it up and move it, but it seems to be fully functional, yay! You can also see that I’ve replaced the LOD mesh too, although I can’t have it nicely textured due to how the original is done. Hopefully, this’ll mean the end of witches flying into buildings, and sims swarming into out buildings when they arrive on the lots.
