This is my attempt to imagine a more ‘trad’ sounding “Toss a coin to your witcher” (by trad I mean folk musicy, like Steeleye Span, Heather Dale, and your generic RenFaire or SCA music.

DESIGN: 5★★★★ The digital experience of Rijksmuseum is very smoothly. The content is properly tagged, it is possible to search by topic and to see curations of content. 

CURATION: 5★★★★★ Most of their collection is under public domain!

SCOPE: 5★★★★★ Their open-access scope is very well thought: they restore, clean and share. OBI also offers a great variety of resolutions, raw images, and a concrete record of the origin of the image. They have also tagged the items properly and create a how-to article to help users navigate the site. 

DESIGN: 4★★★★ The design is very early 2000s looking. They create articles explaining how to navigate the site, but from a user experience perspective is confusing, and there is a lot of reading involved in understanding how to navigate the archive. 

CURATION: 5★★★★★ OBI explores a concrete range of time (between the18th century and the first quarter of the 20th century) and has a focus on Victorian and French Romantic illustrations.

TIPS: Use the Advance Search. That will allow you to find easier what you’re looking for. Also, the humor collection is pretty great!
