Marley’s skin had already started to take on a bronzed glow from all the time she’d been spending out in the sun and she was definitely not mad about it. Part of her had forgotten just how confident she felt when she had a good tan going. It’d been ages since she’d actively worked on a tan, but since these days in Kauai were fleeting, she figured it was now or never. She’d already been in and out of the pool a few times to cool off and flip over, making sure to get a perfectly even tan. Or as close as possible anyway. Lying on her back, eyes closed and content as she’d ever been, Marley cracked one eye open when the sun suddenly disappeared. Squinting, Marley brought a hand to her brow as her eyes adjusted to the change in light. “Hi. Sorry.” She smiled up at Charlotte, who she’d come to find out was the obstacle between her and the sun. “Not to be a giant pain in the ass, but you’re kinda blockin’ my sun sugar.”
