Two amazing photos stuck out in a recent tour of the Central China Normal University History Museum in Wuchang.
Because of CCNU's roots as a mission school of the American Episcopal church originally called Boone Memorial College, the bishop who began the school - Bishop William Jones Boone - was instrumental in forming the first Boy Scouts troop in China here in Wuhan. (He was the first Episcopal bishop to China.)
The Episcopal Church has a small history of Boone Memorial College on its history website here.
The photo above was taken when the boys went to America for a visit in 1935.
And apparently CCNU formed the first brass band in Wuhan in 1909.
