What I Did to Stay Productive During The Summer
This summer I decided that I was going to be more productive, and get a lot more done than what I had done previous to my decision. So, I decided to do a couple of thing that I am going to list and talk about here. Although I did quite a bit I don't feel as if I was as productive as I could have been. But here is what I did this summer :).
1. Birthdays
All of my immediate family members have birthdays in or around summer, it was pretty easy to feel a little productive. By preparing and birthday presents and doing research on potential birthday presents. Doing this actually took up more time than I thought it would and I felt super productive doing it.
2. Drawing
This summer I really wanted to start drawing more than I have in the recent months, due to school, other activities, and my lack of inspiration( i.e laziness and procrastination). I follow this awesome YouTuber, Sea Lemon, who created a 30 day doodle challenge. I didn't do the first challenge she did but I did this challenge. The challenge is set up in a calendar where each day you are given a different prompt and draw something based on that prompt. Although I did not do the 30 days consecutively, it did help me get more into doodling and just getting more drawings down more often.
3. Working
This summer I started a working at an on campus job. This has made me feel quite productive as I am doing things that are outside of being lazy at home.
4. Writing
For the longest time I have wanted to start working on a novel idea that I have had for years, and this summer I was going to do it by signing up for Camp NaNoWriMo July . I had heard about Camp NaNoWriMo but never signed up until this summer, and I'm glad I did. I have not- and won't- reach the goal I set for myself but it was a great place to force me to start on my novel.
5. Hanging Out With Friends
We all need a little human interaction and seeing friends you haven't seen in a while is awesome. This summer was me hanging out with a couple of friends I haven't seen in a while. It was really nice to get out of the house and have fun with friends.
6. Learn how to Code
Really didn't do this much, but I did do it earlier in the summer.
7. Things You Can Do on Your Breaks ( To Feel Productive)
8. Reading
This summer I wanted to read more physical books so I decided to visit my local library a little more often.I actually read some book and finished reading books that I had at home.I noticed that local libraries have so many great and awesome activites for all age groups, and my local library actually gave out free lunches this summer. This just showed me that we really should be supporting our local libraries.
I have compiled some masterposts and websites that I think will help you guys have productive breaks. Some of the websites that I mention may be be in some of the masterposts but I’m just putting a focus on them. I will probably add more links later on- anyway here you go:
