Edwin seems a bit like a Mary sue ngl, sorta feels like steel wool took their oc and made him the most important part of the whole franchise.

Like oh no William and Henry actually stole everything from my oc cause he was super smart and made everything and it’s actually been about him the whole time.

Idk just feels Mary sue when we could have gotten something much different with canny (edit: Vanny) where we aren’t focused on William or Henry anymore, just let their story be done and go to something new

I've been kind of obsessed with the idea of a tall masculine badass woman with a short chubby domestic husband

Like she's a stereotypical girl that grew up with all older brothers and a single dad who are all sporty, survivalist types, so she's super aggressive and competitive

And he's an only child to an elderly hippie couple that love to bake and garden, and he prefers slow living and is really patient and soft

So basically they're on opposite ends of the off-grid homesteading lifestyle and they have different ways to do things but the love and support they have for each other is very "gomez and morticia" coded

When it comes to superpowers, inhuman abilities we have all dreamed of at one point or another, I think there are two we come up with: those we want, and those we have. Which is which says quite a bit about us.

I have considered many powers, but I think the one that has made me the most wistful is flight. With great wide wings, feeling the muscles pulling as I climb from ground to roof to treetop to sky. Flight is freedom, and travel, and escape from things that cannot be run from or hidden away, but it is also joy, and exploration, and discovery.

I cannot fly.

But there is another power, perhaps more passive, that I do hold. Hiding, crouching, withstanding, enduring. More than anything else, it is a shield, a towering affair of steel plates and microscopic spines, welded to my spine. And it won’t go away. Every threat, real or perceived, is met with a wall. And while walls make you safe, they also make you afraid. You depend on the wall. You trust the wall. And you cower, and you run, and you hide.

It is as much an offense as it is a defense. The wall has thorns. I protect myself by striking out at anything that could hurt me. It is not indiscriminate, but it is persistent. I cannot face a danger without instinctively protecting myself.

I think, more than any other irrational fear, I’m afraid that when I die, some force will audit my entire life and ask me to explain my rationalization or reasoning for every action I took or did not take. I can never do anything without feeling like I have to justify it to someone just in case they ask.

Is it a fear if I do enjoy explaining my reasoning behind things? I’m just afraid of what could happen if I don’t have a good answer, or if I did something without a reason to do so.

Is anyone else still caught off-guard that Korrasami is canon? I mean, there are times when I'm just walking down the street and I suddenly remembered "a popular children's show about bending elements and destiny and spirits ended with the main character in a clear romantic relationship with another character of the same gender, and people LIKED it. It wasn't condemned as a trashy gimmick or used as a one-episode throwaway story. Two bisexual female characters from an incredibly celebrated cartoon were a clear end-game pairing, and it wasn't a joke or a fanservice gag, it was honest-to-god canon." I'm still a little blown away by that.
