Using dovetail joints when constructing drawers provides inherent strength and will always give an elegant professional look to a furniture project. Using a dovetail jig enables those new to routing to produce professionally made furniture without the need of traditional skills, but by using the versatility of their router. Designed to make it easy and affordable for any router owner to create dovetails for their projects with an easy to use jig at an economical price. The range of accessories is extensive and so enables an easy to use jig to be converted into a complete jointing system for a wide range of jointing solutions. Of particular interest to traditionalists will be the optional through dovetail templates. Out of the box, Trends dovetail jig has been designed to rout both cuts for perfect fitting lapped 1/2 dovetail joints in one operation with minimal setting up. The jig will adjust to cater for materials from 12mm to 25mm in thickness and include both the cutter and the guide bush. Square steel clamping bars firmly grip the material against offset stops to ensure accurate cuts are made. The body of the jig is a welded steel construction, the templates are zinc plated steel with laser cut fingers. Optional templates are available.
