It’s been too damn long! Here lies all the #cdnscreen streaming, #theaTO seeing, #thesix art attending, graphic novel howling & #cdnfilm screening you can jam in between turning your home upside down. Called it - that’s this pics of words theme of the week (month?). Holy heck.
One of my fav new artists - Canadian or otherwise - is Mr. Andy Shauf.
His last album was our Marfa trip soundtrack & I blogged about him very briefly in the annual year-end waub-initiated post (in the same breath as Father John Misty’s ‘I Love You Honeybear’).
The details woven through Shauf’s storyworld lyrics are so well paired with his delicate voice. Not to mention the catchy poppy un-saccharine melodies...swoon!
Hope you enjoy Winston Hacking’s incredible visual treatment as much as I do, too. Brings back fond collage collective memories + Dundas West-fests spent in front of the Monkey’s Paw.
The stalagmites’ juxtaposition seem to be an (un?)intentional call-back to Shary Boyle’s Venice Bienniale installation...
