EXCLUSIVE: Charles has been cast in the film Elsinore, telling the story of actor Ian Charleson.
Ian gained recognition for playing Olympic runner Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire, and appeared in a vast number of films, and stage shows.
In 1989, Charleson was asked at last minute to step into the role of Hamlet at the National Theatre, despite being deathly ill with AIDS, back when the disease still carried a lot of stigma. But he battled through and delivered a spectacular performance that garnered rave reviews. A matter of weeks later, he succumbed to the illness.
Charles will play Ian's agent, Michael Whitehall. And yes this is the same Michael Whitehall who is the father of comedian Jack Whitehall. No pressure then!
Filming is already underway!
