ALERT: Cybersecurity Compliance is Now MANDATORY for India’s Power Sector – Including Solar Power Plants
📢 In India, cybersecurity for the power sector is not just best practice—it is a regulatory requirement.
✅ As per the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Guidelines on Cyber Security in Power Sector (2021), and updated directives from 2023:
All power utilities, including solar, wind, transmission, and distribution operators, must implement a cybersecurity framework.
The guidelines are aligned with global standards like IEC 62443 and require:
Asset identification and protection
Network segmentation (zoning/conduits)
Role-based access control (RBAC)
Logging, monitoring, and incident response
Regular risk assessments and audits
Implementation of Security Operations Centers (SOC) for critical systems
🛡️ These are not optional recommendations—compliance is mandatory and monitored by CERT-In and CEA for all Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) operators.
⚡ Solar power plants, often assumed to be low risk, are just as vulnerable to cyberattacks as any thermal or nuclear facility. As we move toward a cleaner, decentralized grid, OT security becomes foundational.
At Trinity Touch, in collaboration with Andritz, we are committed to spreading awareness and supporting India’s energy sector with secure, standards-aligned industrial solutions for a resilient, cyber-secure future.
Let’s work together to safeguard our critical infrastructure.
