13 Songs I've Been Listening To Lately
Tagged by: @thethingsireallylike
(Not in any particular order)
1. Jerk it Out by Ceasars
Its inclusion in Eddy Burback's newest video has led to this song getting absolutely stuck in my head for the past few weeks.
2. Nightmare by Halifax
I picked up a copy of MLB The Show 2007 over the summer and this was a highlight of the soundtrack.
3. Atlantic City by Bruce Springsteen
This song is almost in my rotation in general, as it's my favorite Springsteen song. But it has especially been in play since Electric Nebraska came out. While I do enjoy that album and its takes on the material, I can't listen to the Electric Atlantic City without going back to the original.
4. The First Noel by Abandoned Pools
While I generally hold pretty steady to the 'no Christmas music until after Thanksgiving' rule, I've been cheating with this song since the end of Halloween. In my defense, it's one of my favorite Christmas carols and Tommy Walter's rendition is very much my shit.
5. Maureen by Fountains of Wayne
One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. It's kinda awkward since I have a boss named Maureen, but whatever.
6. A Dip in the Ocean by Fountains of Wayne
Probably my favorite song on Sky Full of Holes and one that just keeps coming up in my mind.
7. Someone to Love by Fountains of Wayne
I know most Fountains of Wayne fans don't like this album, but I enjoy it, and I think Someone to Love is Adam Schlesinger storytelling at its best.
8. Radiation Vibe by Fountains of Wayne
"The first" Fountains of Wayne song and also arguably their best, although I have a few I like more. Still, an absolute ear worm that causes the song to remain in my listens constantly.
9. The Remedy by Jason Mraz
I've been feeling very nostalgic recently, and this song just takes me back to the 2000s.
10. The Great Escape by The Rifles
What can I say, I love the sound of this song and the storytelling of the song.
11. Tess Don't Tell by Ivy
From the moment I heard that chorus this song has been in my head.
12. Mercy Kiss by Abandoned Pools
Honestly this whole album could make up the list but I think this is the most hidden gem on Humanistic.
13. Valley Winter Song by Fountains of Wayne
My favorite Fountains of Wayne song and one that has only been getting more play as it gets colder out.
Truth be told, I'm far too shy to tag anyone in this post, despite that being what an ask game is for. I just hate the idea of giving anyone any work without really knowing them, although I suppose part of this game is to get to know people better. Anyway, I encourage anyone who sees this post to share their own list of 13 songs, and feel free to tag me in the post so I can see who I may have inspired.
