i watched it approximately 8 minutes ago so like. bear with me i'm still stupid about it. ultimately i love any scene they're in together they're just so fun. alicent agreeing to kill aegon is CRAZYYYYYYYYY. larys getting him out just in time lmfao. i kind of love rhaenyra demanding it like finally some bloodthirst!!!
the whole. um. so the show's been doing this thing, early days yet, idk how to feel about it but they've been appearing to lean into this really bleakly bioessentiallist "ooh men love war and gore and only women have the presence of mind to seek peace and have no ambition that ever blinds that" mentality that like. god i hope they don't dive deeper into that cause its bad. anyway when nyra first showed up in the red keep in nun drag to beg for peace it was really giving all of that which was not cute. alicent delivered it at least a little bit better i think but i need more time to go over it probably. but rhaenyra like demanding aegons life actually bodes really well here.
as a lover of toxic bestfriend/romance i ate well though. also love to see alicent character awareness. girlie went to the woods one time and was like oh so my whole entire life has been a sham to please other people at the cost of my soul, i see. off topic but i must say in case no one's said it. emma d'arcy looked especially stunning in this scene. idk if it was the lighting or their makeup was different or what but fucking christ. you look that good and alicent doesnt even kiss you my god!!!
