you know what I miss? reading fan theories of what could/was going to possibly happen in the next episode or season of girl meets world. you know what I miss? the gmw writers teasing us with tweets that sent us curiously spiraling into an emotional frenzy because we weren’t sure what it meant. you know what I miss? watching videos of the cast being introduced out of stage at live tapings. I miss the selfies on set and the excitement of a new episode which was just so comforting to watch because even though it was disney, it brought me, and so many other people out of their chaotic lives for just thirty minutes. I miss the lessons they would teach, the fangirling everyone had over texas ( as stressful as that was ). I miss writing fan fictions and one shots before an episode was even out, as if to predict what could happen or what we would dream to happen. I miss episode stills and commercials for them and the leaked videos and photos that would pop up on Instagram on here and the discussions after each episode would happen and mr. feeny guest starring and getting those old bmw vibes. I miss riley and maya, rowan and sabrina, lucas and farkle, peyton and corey, zay and smackle, amir and ceci, cory and topanga, ben and danielle, auggie and ava, august and ava. it isn’t just a show.

for outsiders, for the people who never had an emotional connection to this show, wouldn’t understand how valuable and meaningful this little world that we’ve created and been apart of has been.

you don’t just get enthralled with the characters, no. you get so inspired by the people who actually create these lively characters. you fall in love with the people who bring them to life. it’s a wonderful thing, it’s like having two different souls in one person that you have the privilege to be inspired by. because the person that they are, and person that they portray on this show, are just as amazing.

— rowan has taught me wisdom, strength, vibrance. her passion for what she does kindles a fire within me because I know that, with perseverance and determination, and with any open mind you can change the world. that equality is reachable. that love is endless and has no boundaries. and that underneath it all, we all have a beating heart and we shouldn’t be judged by what we want to be and do with our life.

— ceci has taught me that you always matter. even if you feel like you’re lost, like nobody notices you, she has shown light on the fact that you do. she has taught me that the right people always know where you are. she is so unique, and her kind heart tells me that you should be kind to everyone surrounding you. always.

— amir has taught me to never be sorry for who you truly are. to be unapologetically, yourself. he makes me laugh all the time. but he isn’t afraid to speak out and be himself, and that truly speaks volumes for not only himself, but for many people around the world.

so, this isn’t just a show.

they aren’t just characters.

they’re people we look up too.

if only certain people could realize this, then maybe people will understand the power that the young youth community has, and how much of a say we actually have in changing the world. these people just made our voices a little bit louder.

I'm 21 years old. Am I struggling? Maybe. Do I need help? Definitely. Did I think a Disney show would do that at my age? I don't know. I am so glad I decided to watch girl meets world. It has helped me in so many ways. And given me so many life lessons I cannot count. I am an adult and I thought I was beyond the show. But I was so so wrong. It taught me the importance of friends and family. About God. About myself. It taught me how to deal with conflict and bullies and being different from others. How to have hope and be optimistic. How the world isn't our enemy and would protect us. It taught me the secret of life. How people change people and how we can make a difference in someone else's life. When we grow up we start losing pieces of ourselves. We began to fade and lose faith in the world. This show taught me lessons I'm going to carry life long. It made me laugh and drove me to tears. I can't begin to explain how much I loved every second watching this. And I am so very sad that it was cancelled. Bad choice Disney channel. But thank you for picking it up in the first place.
