EDIT: CATIONS SO U CAN READ MY HANDWRITING
She remembers burying Dynos. The weight of his body in that wooden box had tugged at her through the ropes, made her hands burn. It still tugged at her. Gods be damned, she’s 38 years old and still burying her brother.
Every now and then she thinks about it, remembers the funeral and how everyone just stood around in silence. In the end there weren’t many people who had cared enough to come by. Alf showed up. She didn’t say much to him, though. Couldn’t, really. The entire day had been surreal. There was little left of him to bury, so they had taken what was left, and she had put those broken up pieces in the ground.
It was strange, though, how killing your little brother made you feel a thousand years older.
Did she kill him? Could she really stand before his casket and tell herself that nothing she had ever done was a mistake? She had ignored him. She had been given other priorities. So now she was alive and he was dead and that was that.
Rastan had said ‘everyone slips up from time to time. What matters is how you recover’. After hearing those words from him, of all people, she decided to not ask anyone else for absolution. She didn’t need them to justify her actions, because there was no excuse. She had killed her own brother to save the world. She had died a little in the process.
super quick lil hero of justice
