Mona and Cecil Wedding comic 01
- Mona and Cecil had a shotgun wedding ordered/organized by Mona’s parents after she discovered she was well into an unexpected pregnancy. Mona immediately reached out to her family, who she’d been estranged from in her addiction, and they helped her get into rehab + on a methadone program for the month before the wedding.
- Cecil on the other hand doesn’t have those resources yet and is withdrawing during their wedding, adding more anxiety and discomfort atop the fact that Mona’s family already disapproves of him.
- Also at this point Mona and Cecil were best friends + sleeping together, but not romantic yet. Those feelings were there under the surface, but not communicated until their wedding. Mona also didn’t fully realize she loved Cecil romantically until this day when it all became Real to her.
