The Queer Adventures of Lydia And Stiles

with Lydia, who’s a lot more comfortable with exploring her fluidity now that High School lies behind her and she’s surrounded by people she chose to be surrounded by and whom she trusts.

And she’s helping Stiles figure out what exactly he’s got going because ever since that talk with Caitlin he’s kinda ???? (not that he had a lot of time to think it through, being possessed and all) but still. He assures her he doesn’t need to know a word for it, but he does likes to know himself, so he’d appreciate it if he at least figure out the inner workings.

Guest appearances from Allison, who’s still with Isaac and currently testing how adventurous they like to be with additional people in their bed. 

Scott, who’s over a lot because Stiles is still his brother and maybe because he likes spending time with Lydia as well, now that they have finally time for it without someone’s life constantly being on the line. And maybe lately he’s thinking a lot about all the times when he’d doubted himself and she’d believed in him for them both. (And maybe he’s also thinking a lot about that day a few weeks back, when they were sitting on the fire escape and how breathless he’d felt when her hair caught fire in the evening sun. But he’s okay with keeping that to himself for now.)

And because I’m super into Derek and Kira becoming bros over leather jackets and supernatural shenanigans: Ace!Kira struggling with her sexuality and demisexual, panromantic Derek introducing her to the wonders of The Grey Area so she finally has a word for what she’s feeling.

☯ : Genderbent headcanon: fem!Grantaire would have really long curly hair that she's incredibly vain about.

♤ : Cooking headcanon: He's not actually that good at cooking. He can do simple stuff to keep himself alive, but mostly he either mooches off of others or just eats at the cafe.

Enjolras:

☼ : Childhood headcanon: Even though he comes from a very well to do family, Enjolras has never really fit in with the high society. He was always passionate about those that needed help, and that meant that he never had any friends growing up. They all called him traitor and other things. None of them wanted to associate with him either because their parents told them not to or because they knew already at early ages how weird he was. When he becomes friends with the Les Amis, he's already learned how to hide his true emotions, but he knows that with them, it's okay to show his passion for change. So, it's the only thing he openly and easily shows.

who is the morning person/night person: Between these two, I feel like Enjolras is an “after nine am” person, but Grantaire is an “any time I need to be up” person.

who is the romantic one: Grantaire is romantic naturally. Enjolras tries to be romantic and ends up setting shit on fire.

who is the top when it comes to sex: Enjolras

who would lead in ballroom dancing: You’re asking who would lead in a ballroom dance between the LEADER of Les Amis and a drunk? Doy. Enjolras would lead.

who is the more cuddly one: I feel like they’re both cuddly, but Enjolras is more forceful. Like, pulls Grantaire close to him in the middle of the night if Grantaire shifts away.

who is the one to most likely pick the movie they watch: Enjolras would pick, and then Grantaire would bitch until Enjolras chose something else.

who is the one who would pay for dates: Mm… I think Enjolras would pay most of the time unless Grantaire had a painting that sold really well or something.

who is the one who would initiate a quicky during classes: Enjolras, but Grantaire definitely would encourage it to keep going if Enjolras tried to stop.

Your comic looks so impressive! Do you have any tips for a beginning comic artist?

i put this behind a cut because i ended up rambling a lot I’M SORRY

i’m actually rather new to the whole comic thing myself, i’ve done a few short comics over the years but the reigisa doujin is the first longer story i’ve ever drawn.

one tip i can give you is to check out lüleiya’s tips on drawing manga, it covers a lot of the important things that you should know and keep in mind before you start. and the doujinshi she published so far are extremely good and really beautiful so you can definitely be sure that she knows what she’s talking about <3

i don’t know if you want to draw your comic/s digitally or traditionally but if it’s the latter then you should consider investing a few bucks in high quality drawing materials~ i can’t speak for everyone of course but i really like to work with products from deleter, like the ink, the pen nibs and the paper (i’m sure there are other gr8 supplies out there but these work really nicely for me, i’m always open for suggestions though <3 also there are probably online shops that sell their stuff a bit cheaper but i’m only ordering from german shops so i probably can’t help with that . _.)

random important info: make sure to alWAYS CLEAN YOUR PEN NIBS and close the lid of the ink jar even if you know you’ll continue to use it in 2 minutes, you still don’t want to accidentally spill it all over your art

if you don’t like to ink with pen, then copic multiliners might be a good choice!

i can’t give any advice on traditional screentones, though. i own a few but i only used them like once lol;;;; they’re rather expensive and hard to use (for me), so i prefer to tone digitally. i’m using manga studio ex 4 for that, a nice alternative is deleter comicworks, it’s not as confusing as ms ex 4 and doesn’t have as many options and tools and not the same variety of screentones that ms ex 4 offers but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, because overusing screentones is also something that should be avoided (this is something i’m still learning tbh): rather focus on black/white contrast instead of filling every area with tones~ it helps create an atmosphere and won’t distract your readers as much as 3 million different patterns on one page.

some more things that are unrelated to art supplies: 

practise drawing the characters a lot before you start the comic to get a feel for what they look like etc and to avoid them looking like a different person in every panel, anime jesus knows i learned that the hard way

look at all the pages you’ve finished every once in a while, especially if the page you’re currently working on makes you feel frustrated with your skills because i can promise you that you will see how you improve with every panel and looking at what you’ve achieved already is a very satisying feeling

don’t worry too much about every panel looking perfect, focus on the whole page or whole parts of your comic! it’s not necessary for every line to be 100% perfect, chances are your readers won’t even notice the small flaws you see, the important thing is the flow of the story, it’s okay to make mistakes, sometimes they can even be a good thing and make your art more “alive” so to say

if you ink traditionally and want to tone digitally, i recommend scanning your lineart with 600/1200 dpi and of course in bitmap mode; this is especially important if you plan on printing your comic later
