To "The One," @cedricmcmillan, First, to all his family and close friends, my condolences to all of you during this heartbreaking time. Death, especially sudden, is extremely challenging to face, and this is certainly one of those times. The best contribution to an individual's life is to share moments that show just how much of a quality human being they are, so I'd like to share mine. On December 13th I was driving up to Ohio from Rhode to compete in the Arnold amateur. I had my phone on the dash and periodically watched posing videos from the previous Arnold shows. The man on my screen was "The One" himself, Mr. McMillian. His Arnold Classic presentation and speech in 2017 was one of the best examples of professionalism in bodybuilding. While watching his video, I received a message from photographer Raj. I figured he was confirming our time for my photoshoot. Little did I know, he was messaging me to see if I would like to make a video with Cedric in the morning, the day before my show. However, it was such an incredible coincidence. I am watching him on my phone, and then moments later, I am asked to work with one of my idols in bodybuilding. Let's say due to fatigue, I almost drove off the road. Raj said," We want to do something different, really give back to someone." And I am incredibly grateful that I was given the opportunity. This shows Cedric's level of care for others by going out of his way and assisting some he never even met. Taking your vast knowledge in bodybuilding and bestowing a portion of it on me is a favor that I will never forget. Meaningful mentoring in hopes of making another person improve is authentic leadership. We only spent about an hour together, but that was more than enough time to understand what quality a human being Cedric was and the positive impression he conveys. Thank you, Cedric, for the information you shared with me, for treating me as an equal, a fellow service member, professional, and friend. In no way, shape, or form will you be forgotten. I will be putting videos of our session soon, but at this time, we should all remember this great individual. Rest easy, Ced.-Mike #cedricmcmillan #bodybuilding #theone https://www.instagram.com/p/CcV8iqxODEO/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
