Good morning all,

I hope this holiday season finds you well.

I wanted to send a personal email to all of you. Please know that each of you has been "blind-copied" on this thread, which my son informs me will ensure that you all retain your anonymity unless you choose to "reply to all."

In recent days, I know there have been a lot of conversations going on that center around your designation. While St. Brendan's is a place where everyone should feel free to speak their minds, some choose to express themselves in ways that are.. less diplomatic and less tolerant than I would prefer.

I am doing my best to adhere to my personal policy of not interfering in resident arguments or debates unless a rule or regulation that we have in place here is actually broken. The world can be an intolerant and aggressive place, it saddens me to say, and ultimately, I don't think it would do any of you any good for the 'establishment' to step in and fight your battles.

However, please know that you have my support, you have the support of the Council, and if you need a shoulder to lean on, you have me and you have each other. I encourage you to reach out to one another, on your own terms and if and when you are ready. There is moral support to be had, experiences to share, and friendships to build. And of course, if anything is said or is done that is concerning to you, please don't hesitate to let me know - anonymously if necessary - and action will be taken. You are always safe here.
