ASIA’S TOP ARTISTS UNVEILED, ATTENDANCE AT THE 23RD ASIAN TELEVISION AWARDS IN KUCHING, SARAWAK.
KUALA LUMPUR, 29th November 2018 – For the first time in history, the Asian Television Awards will be hosted in Malaysia, a new home for the international prestigious red carpet and television awards. Sarawak, Asia’s most exotic ecotourism destination, will play host through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports of Sarawak to organize and support the glamour and festivities of the 23rd Asian Television Awards (ATA) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on January 11th to 13th next year. The State Government has newly added a 3rd day of excitement to ATA by organizing a public concert for Sarawak on January 13th at the Amphitheatre in Jalan Budaya, here. Held annually over three evenings with a confirmed attendance by a long list of Asia’s top celebrities such as Alvin Chong, SF9, Eason Chan, Gary Valenciano, Via Vallen, Qu Wanting and many more. The Awards draw hundreds of entries each year from a wide range of broadcasters, including free-to-air TV stations, pay-tv platforms, digital streaming services as well as many independent production houses in Asia. Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Hamzah said it would be the first internationally live telecast event ever to be held at the state’s capital and expected to boost the tourism industry and international tourist arrivals.
The 23rd Asian Television Awards will witness the gathering of a long list of guests and nominees. Asian celebrities and major high-profile influencers include 27-years old Malaysian actor/singer Alvin Chong, and Via Vallen who sang the theme song for the recently concluded Asian Games. The 23rd Asian Television Awards will be attended by Gary Valenciano who is also known as Gary V. and Mr. Pure Energy who is a multi-awarded Filipino-Puerto Rican, singer-songwriter, musician, actor, music producer and TV host. The event also will be attended by the rising K-pop sensation from South Korea, SF9 which consists of nine members and they are Youngbin, Inseong, Jaeyoon, Dawon, Zuho, Rowoon, Taeyang, Hwiyoung and Chani. The 23rd Asian Television Awards will be hosted by the legendary former MTV Asia’s VJ, Choy Wan & May Wan. They will partner up with Adrian Jalaludin who has been in the Malaysian entertainment industry for over a decade, with ten of those years as a TV host specializing in sports, travel, talk shows, and children, and Mark Zambrano who is a senior TV news anchor/sports correspondent for Philippines’s GMA News
and Public Affairs.

Meanwhile the public in Borneo and its entire population of Sarawak will celebrate and enjoy the festivities for the 23rd Asian Television Awards which will serve as an exciting kick-start of a myriad of colourful activities for the state next year.
Over the three days of awards and festivals, Kuching like Cannes, France will
experience the most prestigious and glamorous awards in the heart of Sarawak,
entertained by a gala dinner, live show awards, red carpet arrivals, power-packed stage performances and a concert performed by several groups of international popular talents, soon to be announced.
The Asian Television Awards in Sarawak will be broadcast to 22 countries with over 500,000,000 homes across Asia Pacific. The show will witness invited guests from the crème de la crème of the television industry for the event with over 300 international delegates comprising award-winning film producers, directors, performers, host talents, judges, key sponsors, nominees and celebrities from the participating countries all over Asia.

Past participants of ATA include more than 200 channels across Asia including KBS, NHK, HBO, CNN, Bloomberg, BBC, Al Jazeera, TV18, Discovery Networks, Imagine Group, Viacom International Media Networks, Astro, Media Prima, Pt Televisi Indonesia, Mediacorpp, CGTN, PCCW, Formosa, ABS-CBN, BBTV, SMG and many others.
