from jealousy to celebration

My new prayer: Father THANK YOU FOR HONORING ME BY WAKING ME UP this morning to invite me to spend time with you and for you choosing to spend time with me! Thank you for working in the life of my friend to show her your glory. I pray that as you continue to elevate her she would elevate you and see and know you in a deeper way that many more would come to know you and call on you in spirit and in truth! Thank you Jesus for blessing her!  Your word is true - “blessings crown the head of the righteous” and “the name of the righteous is used in blessings” (Proverbs 10:6 and 7). Hallelujah! Continue to keep your hand upon her, expand her territory, expand the territory in her heart for your glory, and keep her from pain for your glory!  In Jesus’ mighty name!

I prayed this morning: Father I am jealous of the success of someone else, a peer.  Take this away.  

He reminded me: My purpose is to represent God before man in wisdom, hope and love; to present man before God in love and humility knowing that WHATEVER God has given ME is already TOO much and totally undeserved - sitting here today is my award ceremony - what greater honor do I need than for the KING to have seen fit to wake me morning by morning? New mercies I see.   (Insert standing ovation here!) And if I really were serious about loving God I would be too stuck on celebrating God’s glory in the work of others to get caught up on them! When I see someone being honored (especially a sister or brother in the Lord!), why not see the work of God and mercy of God on grand display? For we know God gave them the ability to be successful and put it on someone else’s heart to honor them.  Apart from God we only desire to honor ourselves, and even that we do miserably! Thank you Jesus for a renewed perspective!
