I do not suffer from anxiety.

I have never, as far as I can recall, experienced a panic attack.

I can’t tell you what it’s like. I can’t tell you what this character is going through.

But if anything in this world could drive me over the edge, being stuck on a rickety gondola, suspended over a huge abyss, in the frozen middle of nowhere, with no escape in sight...

...would probably do it.

I wrote this at the start of 2019, and boy it did not age well. 2020 was a rough time for me mentally, and I wound up dealing with both anxiety attacks and panic attacks more than once during that time. At the time of writing this, over a year has passed since then. My head’s in a better place now, but it gave me a lot to think about going forward.

I stand by the gondola thing, though. I still don’t like heights.

I’ve never been fond of heights. Being in an enclosed space like an airplane, I can handle just fine. It’s open space that makes me uncomfortable...
