I had an epiphany.
Recently I have been working on some ideas for Project Hail Mary fanfics (I have a big one in the works) and I realised we aren’t thinking BIG enough. I have seen some character art emerge characterising Mary and Blip-A themselves, genius, and I have a further offering to that thought.
Just imagine it, god-like celestial objects in the Project Hail Mary fandom. Sol, Tau Ceti, and 40 Eridani, all interstellar beings that are being affected by astrophage. Earth, Erid, and Adrian, planets that are home to life within the universe, forced to watch their parent stars suffer from the star killer.
Earth, deeply cares for all life existing upon their surface, animal, plant & bacterial. Their biggest achievement is sentient life, and while they are distraught about Sol, their parent star, being devoured. They are more distraught over loosing 3 of their precious humans to the silence of space.
Having the ability to feel all life emerging from them, Earth can connect with their humans aboard the Hail Mary only to discover two had already died on the journey. Once Ryland Grace and Rocky meet each other, Earth can now connect with Erid, another planet successful in developing sentient life. Both planets were under the impression they were alone within the universe. Then they also meet Adrian who is only just starting to develop life.
I truly believe that this idea has a lot of potential, while I might have not delivered my idea as well as I could have, just the thought in general could open up so much cool fan art and fanfics. :)
