[ olivia walks into the hospital room, uninvited, and sits on the edge of the bed, looking at celeste ]
-- did i ever tell you that i wanted to be a police officer before i decided on becoming a nurse?
the medical tent was slow for a festival night. usually random people from the crowd were brought in nonstop as a result of dehydration or fainting from too much excitement. occasionally olivia dealt with people in handcuffs that had been injured in fights, but luckily that hadn't happened so far tonight.
she sat behind her desk, typing up the incident reports of the night -- five, a record low -- and pulled her legs up on the chair. the boys were about to sing their last song, which usually meant that her lavender scrubs were covered in a mixture of blood, vomit, alcohol, and sweat. tonight, though, she was fairly clean. maybe she didn't need to change in the tent tonight. that would be a miracle.
the last song was nearly over when one of the security officers came into the tent, requesting the paramedics team to come with them immediately. olivia figured they were just going to pick up another fainting victim and grabbed her bag and a new file to fill out at the scene.
it was a long walk, but she wasn't surprised; the festival grounds were always huge no matter where they went. at the moment, she had no idea what city, let alone country they were in. she just did as the event coordinators told her to do and stayed out of their hair as much as possible. her business was with the health of everyone on tour, not with the schedule.
the bright blue and red flashing lights brought her out of her thoughts as she arrived at the scene with her paramedic team. she could make out the silhouettes of three people on the ground surrounded by police officers. one was sitting up, holding another body in their arms. the third body was off to the side and looked dead aside from the rapid rise and fall of the chest.
her team split up, knowing exactly what to do, and she approached the lone body on the ground, pulling gloves on as she went. it was a man, looking to be in his twenties by the size of his body and figure. she couldn't see his face too well for all of the blood, but as soon as two of her team members turned him onto his side -- to keep him from choking to death, of course -- she recognized him.
that's when her blood ran cold and all of the heat in her body shot up to her head, causing her cheeks to blush and the back of her neck prickle and sweat. her hands began shaking and all of the lights and sounds became distant blurs and strange echoes in her ears. all time seemed to stop and the only thing she could think of was celeste. her name played in her mind over and over, faster and louder until she started yelling her name out loud.
derek, ingesting his own blood and probably bleeding internally, didn't matter. if he was here, that meant celeste was probably somewhere bleeding and crying and needed help. olivia's help. she had to find her. she had to fix her, stitch her back together and take care of her.
she turned around, looking for any sign of the brunette, time still moving slower than her panic filled mind, until she saw her -- cradled in harry's arms with three medics around her.
"stop! don't touch her!" she yelled a little too loudly as she ran over, her heart nearly pounding out of her chest as she dropped to her knees, moving one of her medics out of the way a little too forcefully. "all of you, go to him. now."
it took two deep breaths to calm herself down and reach out with a gloved hand to move celeste's hair from her face to assess the damage. there was so much blood; it had to be all of it. there was just so much. and she was hysterical, repeating something over and over that she couldn't quite hear just yet as she continued to come down from her panic attack.
"cel? i need you to look at me -- please."

{text}: Is that what you bought at Victoria Secret, yesterday?
{text}: You’re right. It does look better on.
{text}: Alright. That is all. Have fun. Wrap it before you tap it,
{text}: JUST SO YOU KNOW, I HAVE NOW GOTTEN THESE FROM BOTH OF YOU. I DID NOT ASK TO BE THE MIDDLE MAN.
{text}: Okay, bye.
