Ferah could count on her fingers the amount of times she’d felt truly alone. Sure, her parents worked, and when they didn’t, they took care of Alev, and Alev was in and out of the hospital a lot. Still, when she was younger, George had always been around, right down the hall, keeping the way too big house from feeling empty when everyone else was gone. But he’d moved out months ago, and for the first time since he had, she was in an overwhelmingly quiet, dark house all by herself. Sure, the dogs helped - honestly, she probably would have been too much of an anxious wreck to reach out to Tyler if it hadn’t been for them, and that had been a great call.
Things didn't feel overwhelming with him here. In fact, she felt at ease. Like absolutely nothing could go wrong, that all of her worst fears surrounding being home alone for the first time in her life were simply that, fears. Actually, the more she thought about it - she liked how it felt. Being able to watch movies with Tyler on the couch without the fear of having to hide him before her parents came home. And as she comes back into the living room with a fresh bowl of popcorn, she can’t help but smile when she sees the boy still there. A ball of floof settling right back into her lap as Ferah settles back down and tries to work around Hikari to set the bowl on the coffee table.
This was nice. They should do this more often, even if her parents screamed about germs like they didn't work in a hospital. It wasn't as if they'd notice right now though. They wouldn't be home until morning, and she doubted they'd be home longer than a quick shower before going back to see Alev. Which meant nobody would notice Tyler sneaking out tomorrow. She presses her lips together at the realization, glancing over to the boy again as the gears turn in her head. A sleep over could be fun, and if nobody would notice him here, he didn’t have to leave.
She didn't want him to leave.
“Will you stay with me?” She asks, the words slipping off her tongue with so much ease even she is taken aback by how simple it is to ask him to do that. But she supposed she never really enjoyed having to say goodbye to Tyler, she always wanted him around. “Just for tonight. If we get caught, I’ll take full responsibility, okay? But I don’t think anyone will even notice, plus it’s not like Lev’s home-” Okay, now that wasn’t easy to say. She takes a deep breath, trying to recompose herself from the sudden onslaught of emotion the words bring. “I just think it’d be fun, and I feel safer with you here.”
