So... My video editing skills are nonexistent but last night I had a terrible idea that needs at least to be expressed: the Cellar Tapes' final song but they actually sing Mmm Watcha Say. My mind accidentally connected the two things and now I'd give anything to see it come true in video form. So yeah, just an idea you might want to consider since you know how to make edits 👀 P.S. Thanks for tagging me in the tv shows thingy, if you don't see my reply it's just because I'd already done it :)
Np! :) So, I realized I possibly most definitely misinterpreted this after looking back. Although, what I did create still has me quite tickled. So without further ado, I present to you... something you half asked for?
too much is perplexed baby hugh
LIfe's a Melodrama - Blues Broers.
South African music of (almost) all description is one of my passions, so I thought I’d kick off my Noonday Tune career with something a little old, a little borrowed, and a lot of blues.
I first encountered the Blues Broers when they were still known as the Flaming Firestones, a politically charged name in the necklacing 80s. One of them had a grubby musician’s flat next to my school, Cape Town High. Sitting on the floor, I was treated to a bootleg recording of a Jim Morrison/Jimi Hendrix 1968 live collaboration, which probably kick-started my love of musical minutiae.
“Life’s a Melodrama” is also live, which is and was the best way to experience the Blues Broers, especially on a hot summer’s day at the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay. “Life’s a melodrama/A tragedy deluxe/Some people think it’s karma/Some people think it sucks/No matter where you come from/No matter where you go/LIfe’s a melodrama/Sit back and enjoy the show.” Sums up Cape Town, really.
