Birthday wishes from The Celtic Way via Twitter - 24.12.21
Celtic TV - Tommy Gemmell #Lions - As the Lisbon Lion is laid to rest, we look at some of the tributes that have been laid in his memory. This is a short video of today's live broadcast. #YNWA Tommy :-(
Upcoming Trips and Outreaches (CWDTS)
I am five weeks into the wonderfully intense journey that is staffing a Discipleship Training School (DTS)! We have seven excellent trainees here in our Paisley community with us and are learning how to live life together while growing in who we are as children of God. So far we have had lecturers come in to teach the trainees on, The Nature and Character of God, Healing on the Streets (hands on evangelism outreach), The Lordship of Christ and the laying down of rights, The Kingdom of God and Relationships. We have much more in the line up for the following two months. I am very excited for the growth and change we've seen in the trainees so far as well as being very encouraged at how open to hearing from God and embracing change they have been. I wanted to briefly overview what the next few months will look like for me as I continue to staff this DTS, manage the community kitchen and invest in the town of Paisley.
Upcoming Trips and Outreaches
St. Cuthbert’s Way: Tomorrow morning we will be away to begin a five day, 62 mile trek between the Scottish Borders town of Melrose and Lindisfarne off the coast of Northumberland, England. This will be physically, mentally and spiritually challenging as we get a first look at what our team looks like in "close corridors", walking together for 12 miles a day.
Oban: We will be off again in another 3 weeks for a five day sailing trip off the coast of Oban, we will be having lectures along the journey from a Scottish local.
Create Change: is a residential week for local paisley youth to come and learn, love and grow together around a certain topic of discussion. This year the topic is "Illumination" with focuses on identity, what influences us and how we can impact our community. Here's a video from a previous Create Change that had a focus on justice. (VIDEO)
Mid-Term Outreach: We will have two-weeks partnering with Shine, an outreach that runs during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (world’s largest arts festival with shows from over 47 countries) doing evangelism and street performances.
Ukraine: An eight week outreach partnering with Ukraine local Churches and Ministries. More details coming soon!
