Samhain approaches! 🌟 One of the reasons I love Samhain so much is how many different traditions there are that combine my two favorite things – food and divination. Try some of these at your Halloween celebration this year. 🌟 Peel an apple in one long strip and toss the peel over your shoulder. Its shape will form the first letter of your future spouse’s name. 🌟 Roast two hazelnuts near the fire – one for you and one for your beloved. If the nuts jump away from the heat it’s a bad sign, but if they roast quietly it’s a good match. 🌟 Bake a barmbrack – an Irish bread with raisins and sultanas. Hide assorted items in it and serve portions at random. What you find in your piece tells your future – i.e. a ring means marriage, a coin means wealth. 🌟 Or, bake a batch of salty oatmeal scones. Eat yours in 3 bites and go to bed in silence, without drinking any water. Your future spouse will appear in your dreams to offer you a glass of water. 🌟 Drop egg whites in water – the shapes will foretell how many children you will have. . . . . . . #samhain #folktraditions #folklore #celticrevivial #greenmagic #natureismychurch #naturechurch #sacredmundane #diymagic #homemademagic #handmademagic #ceremony #practicalmagic #altar #magick # #folkrevival #southernmagic #mountainmagic #livemoremagic #mundanemagic #naturemagic #natureismagic #magicisforeveryone #littlealtarseverywhere #magicinthemundane #magicinprogress https://www.instagram.com/p/B4RE85kHpil/?igshid=17zsvxr76kzr6
