I saw your post on Azazel, and I love it! I lived in the Caribbean at one point, and the people are primarily a mixture of natives, and Africans, though on certain Islands there are large Hispanic populations as well. Hope that helps!

Okay so on the gif set with Rey raising/lowering her saber: I’m on mobile so I have the ability to reverse gif’s and to me, it looks like it is being played backwards because 1. The rain looks more natural with her lowering it 2. That weird hand motion as she puts her hand on the hilt also looks natural as she drops it and 3. Her entire body language appears to be relaxing as opposed to tensing up. In my opinion I think they might have just been sparring and this is just after that

Yeah, I’m really leaning towards it being reversed!  I did a quick gif of the scene and then reversed it and:

The one where she’s lowering it looks a lot more natural to me.  You’re spot on that she seems to be relaxing in a more natural way and taking her left hand away from the hilt looks more natural than the way she raises it to grip the hilt in the first gif.  So I think I’m even more on the side of “that shot was definitely reversed” and they’re trying to make it seem like something it’s not.It’s still meant to be an ESB parallel--though, who knows if TLJ parallel ESB as much as TFA paralleled ANH, but I feel like they’re very aware of that complaint and they’re using it to try to misdirect us.
