Second two images from Forest Hills cemetery. My mom raised us to be serious grave tenders, spending Memorial Day digging, weeding and planting at various cemeteries. In #Massachusetts that usually mean there are some very old graves and I would wander off to read them all. We'd be hot and dusty going from plot to plot all over Western MA. I still do it, beginning at my parents' graves which are hundreds of miles apart. Some people now commune with their dead on dormant Facebook pages. I prefer to show my respect by planting living flowers while I chat up my grandmother.
