A panel that was presented at Centaurus Festival 2026, "Machine Soul: The Intersection of Object Spirituality and Identity," by Neve VR52. "Neve VR52, the community's friendly neighborhood mixing console, shares a deep dive into what it means to have the soul of an object, and the ways being an object has influenced his own spiritual path into animist Christianity and object spirit work, followed by a round of AMA."
The documentary mentioned is Animism: People Who Love Objects (2015). You can see a trailer here.
Considering making some simple button designs to sell in the dealer's room at @centaurus-festival. Are there particular kinds of things people would want to have, other than basic alterhuman symbols? My button maker does circles about 1.5" in diameter so I can fit up to a short sentence of text.
I make three categories of buttons: original text (examples are from Pride this year), chaotic collage (made from salvaged books and magazines), and pressed flowers (one-of-a-kind, sustainably collected near my apartment). All types can be made into either pins, magnets, or keychains.
I may also do custom button commissions (i.e. with someone's chosen text or images they have rights to use), so if there's interest in that let me know! All of this unfortunately hinges on me not having a health flare during the con but I'm going to be optimistic ^^;
I can also make vinyl decals of alterhuman symbols, but that's a lot more labor-intensive so I may or may not be able to depending on how I feel.
(Before anyone asks I don't currently have an active online shop, it's been a bad health year so I've been vending in-person only. I can also only ship within the US)

just wanted to say that I really loved the centaurus festival. it was the push I think I needed to actually start like making stuff about my alterhumanity. bc before it I had a Massive imposter syndrome, I thought that my experiences didn't matter at all, like I'm just a grain of salt compared to like beings like you who are older and more experienced and are more like 'relevant' to the community. but seeing you guys making jokes, interacting with us like we are (gasp) equals, and being giant nerds (aff) was. so important to me. like. you are just some guys.
anyways I'm not really good with words and especially not in English (as you can probably tell), so I was thinking that I could contribute with art. after all, pictures speak more than words sometimes! I wanna draw. I wanna make comics. I wanna make Stuff, ya know? so thank you, for making me feel like I can. that's all.

And yeah, we truly are Just Some Nerds, the same as everyone else. Our experiences and writings/art/etc aren't inherently any more valuable than someone else's, no matter how much we might make or how old we might be. I'm really glad that that was a major take away for you and for some of the other folks I've talked to, because all community creations are important and I really can't emphasize that enough. No one can write or draw or sing about your experiences the same way you can! You're a wholly unique person and all your autobiographical work will ALSO be wholly unique and isn't that cool as fuck?
Aaaaaaaaa thank you so much for this ask, anon!!!!!! I'm still reeling in recovery mode from running the con, but this was really really awesome to see. It's been amazing to see some of the works people have been making from being inspired by the con. It's so wild to feel like I've helped folks and made a difference.
