The start on the Centru-Buiucani street was auspicious. After much amazement we at the German takeover of the Music Faculty building in ruins and all the ominous warning signs we entered the world of embassies. This street is literally full of them, with the American Embassy basking in the sun and promising a lot of work & travel. There are guards everywhere and it was quite difficult to photograph. The only thing was that our "objectives" were on the other side of the street. The TOH were growing in a thick growth, the whole area looked vaguely colonial. The trim and quite aggressive white splash of US embassy reminds one of some Banana-Republic vignette.
