Centre for Environment Planning & Technology (CEPT) University, Ahmedabad was established in the year 1962 by Ahmedabad Education Society (AES). It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 in February 2007.
