I Love Your A Bug's Life Fanart...By The Way, I Saw Your Drawing Depiction Of Hopper's Family...From The Looks Of It Looks Like Hopper Gets His Intimidating & Potent Attitude From His Mother & Molt Seems To Be Most Kind Hearted Out Of Them All...
Thanks! Yeah, I based this primarily on the fact that female grasshoppers are significantly larger than males. We never get to see a female grasshopper in the movie, but I like the thought that they'd have an intimidating presence due to their size alone. Acridomorph and I wanted Hopper and Molt to be a mish mash of both of their parents, from their looks right down to their behavior
Does Hopper Have A Close Relationship With His Mom...Because I Remember In The Film Hopper Told Molt..."I Swear, If I Hadn't Promised Mother ON HER DEATH BED That I Wouldn't Kill You I Would Kill You!" It Seems Like They Were Both Annoyed By His "ANTICS"...
I like to think so, yeah. There isn't much to work with of course, but I still think it's quite profound for a ruthless antagonist such as Hopper to be a man of his word and respect his mother's dying wish, considering that's just about the only scene in the entire movie that depicts him with redeeming qualities.
I mean this is a guy who didn't hesitate to kill three of his own goons just to ensure that things don't slip out of his control.
I'm not so sure if his mother was also annoyed by Molt, it seems to me like she just knew that Hopper hated his brother enough to potentially harm him without her in the picture.
