One of the few consistenly uniform human strains, employed by everyone from the most feudal Cabals to the most utilitarian governmental Companies, the harpy strain is almost exclusively used millitary, security and tactical roles. Broadly, their populations can be divided into two common morphs; the lighter and more compact hawk and the larger, elongated vulture. Offshoot morphs (such as the Lyolësé hummingbird) have been developed with increasing frequency ever since the events of the Quickening sundered the unified human colony into the myriad and bickering nations that exist on Cerotian ‘present’.
The harpy strain was kindled by the Shoal humans not long after their arrival to the Cerotian system; one of the earliest sent to scout places of habitation before even the first ‘true’ (ie, generic, you can me) humans were birthed to live there. Although, through time and calamity, almost all of that history has been lost.
