Juan: Tolya feels like they've sort of bludgeoned (Or are bludgeoning?) Juan into a friendship, knowing that they're not the kind of thing that he would have sought on his own. Does it feel like that to him, did they insert themself into his life, or are they just overthinking? Does he consider them a friend, properly? Does it really matter? They're not going anywhere. There's a genuine affection they feel for him, an interest in who he is, how he got here, and what he wants to make for himself, but there's a much more personal attachment there too. Watching him being pulled between his connections to and his responsibilities to two incompatible worlds is something that hits very hard, even if it's entirely likely that they'll never talk about that in depth. They hate not talking about that in depth. How much does Juan realize? There's so much for him to be considering and focusing on in his world, that it isn't clear. Is he really as oblivious to things in his periphery as it seems like he might be? Or on some level is it the same kind of game that Milu seems to be playing? It's been nice to share in curiosities and little flecks of joy, a little bit of easing things on the journey, but they're not quite a part of either of Juan's two worlds. Kind of stuck in the seam, maybe. How long can that last? Is this making a difference? Dragon:
How do you justify it? You see something you like, maybe even love, and so you dig a claw into it, but to hold on, you have to make it yours and make it you, and in doing so, you change it. you have to file away pieces and chip away at what made them whatever they were. How can you feel over the edges of where you cut a part of a person away from them, and be at peace with yourself, after that initial hit of satisfaction? How do you hold onto pride in that, even if it was necessary? They want to know. They're envious. But this isn't something that can be spoken. Dragon isn't the kind to simply answer a question when there's more of a lesson to be learned by a person's personal studying, anyways. They are very much studying.
