Cervical collars are prescribed for a variety of reasons like cervical spondylosis which is induced by aging or stress that affects the cervical spine. They’re designed to be used for a brief period of time while recovering from an injury, trauma, or pain, especially for post-surgical restrictions after neck surgery. There are two variants of cervical collars to prevent back and forth or side-to-side movement. The softer cervical collars are made of felt, foam, or rubber and are used for mild injuries for a short duration.
