"i should have never come here." the statement had come to no one in particular but emmeline was now having deep regrets about her move entirely, her rivals to friends relationship with devon, going back into a job that clearly wasn't for her but she didn't deal with failure. she should have expected mateo to be here yet he had thrown her entirely off - was she that avoidable? what made people feel like they could discard her so easily? perhaps it was because of the scent of desperation she gave off. "yeah-" the word was more breathy than spoken. "yeah-" it hadn't worked out, any of it and it was beginning to scare her. this day was meant to be about devon but the mood, the shouting and the lack of air had brought everything back.
