do you guys know that fic where bucky and nat work for SHIELD and they go to a hydra base where all these doors lead to the past where steve rogers is and they have to stop hydra and save steve?

When SHIELD agent Bucky Barnes is sent to investigate a potential Hydra facility he doesn’t know what to expect. Walking through a door in a Hydra base and ending up in a stranger’s apartment sure wasn’t it though. And according to the skinny kid gawping at him from the fire escape, the apartment he just walked into is in Brooklyn. In 1925. What the hell?

But Bucky isn’t the only one to have made his way through the door. And the more he gets caught up in Hydra’s plot to change the past the more he begins to wonder – what could Hydra possibly want with a skinny kid like Steve Rogers?

“You lied to me.”

“I didn’t mean to. It just sort of happened.” Steve fucked up. He knows he fucked up. He’s got some grovelling to do to get back on Bucky’s good side. 

“It didn’t just happen. You made a choice, Steve.”

Steve slides up behind Bucky and wraps his arms around him, hooking his chin on Bucky’s shoulder. “You’re right. I did. And I’m sorry.”

Bucky pulls away. “I’m not ready to forgive you.”

“That’s fair,” Steve says. “I can promise it won’t happen again.”

Bucky turns on him. “Can you? Can you really?”

“With every fiber of my being. I promise on my shield it won’t happen again.” He reaches out for Bucky’s hand. Bucky doesn’t give it, but instead crosses his arms. “I was wrong.”

“You watched the last season of Santa Clarita Diet without me,” Bucky pouts. “We were saving that for some us time.”

“I know baby. But you were on a mission, and I got bored, and I really wanted to see what happened next.” Steve places his hands on Bucky’s biceps. “I’m sorry. I’ll watch it again with you.”

“It won’t be the same.” 

“Tell you what. You start the show and I’ll go down to the corner bakery and get you a scone and the biggest latte they have.”

Bucky considers this for a moment. “That’s a start.”

There’s two fics in the Soul Selling tag, not sure if one of them is the one you’re looking for?

When I search for variations on “sells his soul”, I mostly get demons, not witches. And I haven’t found anything that mentions the ripping the heart open thing.
