Okay. I was on my beloved AO3 and I saw something that made me do a double take. So, now I really want to know…
What is your AO3 user ID?
I’m an OG user 5 digits or less
Six figures baby!
I’m in the millions…
I’m so curious to see how long people have been on AO3! I know some people have been on there since beta/invite only, but I would love to see what the number is on tumblr!
Y'all. Y'ALL.
I just watched the 2004 Asian horror movie called Three...Extremes. It's an anthology. Three shorts by three Asian directors. The first short is called Dumplings.
Let me tell you. This short is the epitome of Dead Dove: Do Not Eat. (The other two were good, but Dumplings is on a whole other level.)
From IMDB: Starting with Fruit Chan's "Dumplings (2004)", desperate trophy wife Mrs Li is willing to try everything in her power to restore her beauty and rekindle her philandering husband's passion. But when cryptic local chef Aunt Mei enters the picture, Mrs Li will have to take a leap of faith to sink her teeth into her succulent, special dumplings.
If you can stomach it (heh), I highly recommend it. Currently streaming on AMC+.
쓰리, 몬스터 THREE... EXTREMES segment "DUMPLINGS" — 2004, dir. Fruit Chan
Team how are we feeling about Carter being Skips third??? Idk man there’s something rattling around in my head about them, I’ve just gotta find it.
Heated Rivalry AU pre-tuna melt, where one summer instead of staying in Montréal or going to his cottage Shane goes out of the country to Spain, or Greece, or wherever the fuck, and sees Scott Hunter at a gay bar and they do an incredibly stupid thing and hook up. I'm not talking about blowing, or a mutual handjob, or frotting, or docking, no no no these two go allll the way. Condom and all.
This is where Shane fully realizes that while, yes, he does like men (he hasn't admitted to himself that he isn't attracted to women at all yet, he just confirms that he's definitely into men) and the sex with men is great, the only one who can fully satisfy him is Ilya and decides that Scott will be the last guy other than Ilya to fuck him.
Scott immediately gets post-nut clarity and is like "what the fuck did we just do" and freaks out which causes Shane to freak out. They can't look each other in the eye and one of them leaves the hotel room asap tuna-melt style.
Neither of them ever mention it ever again and pretend like it never happened. Then one day at the Kingfisher after Shane and Ilya are out publicly they're with Scott and Kip, and Kip mentions how Scott went to other countries to have his secret gay sex (I believe kip would know this, no I have not read game changer so I don't know if he canonically does) and Shane and Scott visibly tense up.
Kip and Ilya clock this immediately. Kip laughs and thinks it's fucking hilarious, meanwhile Ilya's going into shock because he's just now finding out that Shane let another man fuck him and of all men it was ancient dinosaur, Scott Hunter.
At Shane and Ilya's wedding Ilya took the mic and out of nowhere started giving a genuinely heartfelt speech about how Scott Hunter's brave decision to come out after winning the Cup transformed his life and made this all possible. It's so out of character and kind that it visibly moves Kip to tears and Scott isn't far behind.
He ends it with "As a thank you we dedicate this next song to you, Hunter."
And then he starts blasting "Dinosaur" by Ke$ha
Scott has to remind himself it's rude to murder the groom at a wedding.
Scott and Kip are fighting and Carter is worried they’re going to get a divorce so he sits them down to act as a therapist and asks how they can fix this. Kip jokingly says something like “Getting you in out bed would solve most of the issues.” Kip only meant it as a joke but Carter is like “I willing to try if you think that’ll help” and thirty minutes later, Kip riding Carter like his life depends on it while Scott watches with his dick in his hand. Scott cannot believe Kip’s plan worked.

Hi, Clue/Heated Rivalry anon again.
You mentioned that Ending B, with Mrs. Peacock as the murderer, was the weakest in your eyes. I did see many comments in places like YouTube say the same, and I can see why.
Remember when Professor Plum mentions that he had guessed that the singing telegram singer gave Mr. Boddy the information to blackmail him, but that he didn't know anything about the other informants and guests until they were all gathered at Hill House? Ending A does make more sense since Yvette was connected to Colonel Mustard and Mrs. White aside from Miss Scarlet. But Mrs. Peacock was only connected to the cook, so only that murder made sense (you could make a case for Mr. Boddy as well since he was the one blackmailing all of the guests, including her). She even asks Wadsworth why she would have murdered the other informants.
I like that it exists though. It still has some hilarious moments such as the others awkwardly breaking into song on the spot as Mrs. Peacock's leaving and then Mr. Green thinking that she was a man. Also, on one last note...why did the cook make monkey brains since Mrs. Peacock recognized them on sight during dinner and made her fatal mistake, as Wadsworth puts it?
Mrs. Ho, the cook, was once Mrs. Peacock's cook. My guess is that either Mrs. Ho cooks monkey's brains fairly regularly for special occasions and Mrs. Peacock realized Mrs. Ho was there after she was served them, or Mrs. Ho knew Mrs. Peacock was coming and since she is the informant for Mr. Boddy, she cooked it to trip up Mrs. Peacock.
Hi, it's the Clue/Heated Rivalry anon again.
I get what you said about Mrs. White and the many husbands, it made sense. Thanks for your take on that part.
I was curious, out of the multiple endings, which one made the most sense to you? The home video version compiled all of them and made the third ending, where everyone committed a murder and Mr. Green is an undercover agent, the real ending. But I've seen comments in places like YouTube saying that Ending A, where Yvette and Miss Scarlet were the murderers, made more sense to them. And yes, I do include the cut Ending D, the dark ending, because it was shot and filmed but never released.
I'm old enough to have seen this in the theatre in 1985, and IIRC, I got ending B in which Mrs. Peacock did it. (Fun Fact: I am now two years older than Eileen Brennan was when she made the movie!) It wasn't until several years later that I saw all three endings and realized the one I saw was the weakest.
Ending A: Not my favorite, but I could see it. I don't think either of them are physically strong enough on their own to pull it off. Ending B: Mrs. Peacock was 53 years old! No way. This is a 1985 53, not a 2026 53. Big difference. Ending C: Makes the most sense to me. Each of them kills the person they're directly connected to. Ending D: I like this ending, too. Wadsworth poisoning everyone and just waiting them out, but I can see why it was scrapped.
Watching Heated Rivalry at a friend’s behest and feeling absolutely nothing but subtle antipathy for the first two episodes and wondering to myself “oh shit wait am I actually homophobic” but then Skip has my whole heart 8 minutes into episode 3 and I realize my actual problem is just that Hollander and Rozanov are fucking idiots.
Hi, it's the Clue/Heated Rivalry anon again after a long time. Can I just say that when Colonel Mustard asks Mrs. White how many husbands she's had, he ignores or somehow doesn't notice that she mentions other women's husbands? Because that implies that she's had more than five husbands, but the movie only informs us about the first two (the illusionist first husband and the nuclear physicist second husband)
Hi Nonnie!
First and foremost: I LOVE getting these asks! On to the question.
I’m a little torn on this one. The first husband was the (not very good) illusionist, and the latest, fifth one, was the nuclear physicist. And when asked, Mrs. White said that she paid the blackmailer because she didn’t want a scandal (of being accused of killing them), not that she didn’t kill all five of them, which is the running joke.
Now, in the convo between Col. Mustard and Mrs. White, she implies she’s had other women’s husbands. I tend to lean toward that she “had” them meaning slept with not killed.
Colonel Mustard: How many husbands have you had? Mrs. White: Mine or other women's? Colonel Mustard: Yours. Mrs. White: Five. Colonel Mustard: Five? Mrs. White: Yes, just the five. Husbands should be like Kleenex: soft, strong and disposable. Colonel Mustard: You lure men to their deaths like a spider with flies. Mrs. White: Flies are where men are most vulnerable. Colonel Mustard: Right!
b/c of the teaser for francois' under armour campaign...
under armour puts together a whirlwind, last minute, full court press multi-media ad campaign starring scott for pride after he wins the cup and comes out. they were already planning something featuring him to get released over the summer, but with all the media attention he's getting for that kiss? it's rainbow capitalism time baby and scott is cashing in. kip has a moral objection to it but he stays quiet about it. scott confided in him about how scared he was of losing all his endorsement deals if he ever came out so he is resolved to push those feelings down and be a supportive boyfriend.
he's very successful at pushing those feelings down once the first teaser gifs get released. when the first billboard drops he is so distracted by it he walks into a trash can.
