i told @skyville-crossing i would draw her mayor and then used her as a guinea pig to test out the marker tool in Sai 2 real quick muahahaha

i was digging through my art folder and found this in-progress painting from last year -- diana!

my friends and i affectionately called her “bowling pin diana” because she actually looked identical to a bowling pin before I shaved off some of the more narrow bottom at some point

as you can see i work by my own logic and sometimes complete the painting in pieces instead of painting everything as a whole -- i was in the middle of doing both the groundwork for the foliage that would frame her portrait as well shading the face, for instance, even though I hadn’t gotten anywhere close to needing to shade the body yet (much less decided what I was going to do with the lower half)
