College Football Playoffs Round 1 Prediction
Starting off with Alabama vs Oklahoma: Now I'm a die hard Alabama fan, so I'll admit that I'm very biased. If we put on the same performance we gave in the Iron Bowl, or God forbid, the SEC Championship, we're going to be screwed. Our main issue is our Offensive Line not providing Ty Simpson any coverage. It probably didn't help that Jam Miller was out yesterday either. Frankly, I've also got a few questions for our Offensive Coordinator. Going for a 4th down conversion right next to Georgia's end zone was a terrible play call.
That being said, we have what it takes to win. Alabama beat 4 back to back, ranked SEC teams, including Georgia. We've just got to come in playing our A-Game. We've got two weeks to fix our offense and tighten our already good defense. Besides, Oklahoma beat us earlier this year. If I'm not mistaken, Bama's gonna be that much more motivated to settle the score. I call 'em Revenge Games.
I'm predicting a victory for Texas A&M. Texas went undefeated until rivalry week, and had a tougher schedule than Miami. Not to say it'll be a blowout. It'll probably be a really close game. Texas will have to really work for their victory.
I've got Ole Miss dominating over Tulane. Ole Miss was in line to play in the SEC Championship if Alabama had lost to Auburn. Their only loss this season was to Georgia, who's arguably the toughest team in the nation.
Tulane got in by winning their conference championship. They too, only one loss this season. They lost to... Ole Miss. Remember what I was saying about revenge games in regards to Alabama vs Oklahoma? Forget what I said. Oklahoma beat us by only 2 points. Ole Miss absolutely obliterated Tulane last September. 45-10. This just goes to show that the SEC is a whole 'nother league.
I should note that Lane Kiffin having abandoned... uh I mean, taken another job may impact Ole Miss' performance, but I doubt it'll hurt them too badly. I guess that remains to be seen.
James Maddison vs Oregon:
I don't have much to say about this game. I've got Oregon winning, but James Maddison may surprise us. Both teams played really well in their conference. Both have only one loss.
So anyway. If this prediction turns out to be true, here's what we can expect to see in the Quarterfinals:
