Max was feeling rather uncomfortable about the move. Sure, it would be a fresh start for him, an opportunity to wipe clean his slate and put his past behind him. Sort of. The rumours of him being a criminal had already started spreading around his new workplace. He’d tried his best to ignore them but he couldn’t deny the niggling feeling of discomfort that weighted his chest whenever he entered a room and a hush fell over the people around him. This new town was only a short distance from the one he had left and yet it still felt so foreign to him, it was an odd sensation, one that he would have enjoyed under other circumstances. 

That evening Max was minding his own business, walking home and daydreaming all at once. He didn’t have a car but he did have a curfew and absolutely nothing exciting to spend his time on.

Bio: Max grew up mainly on the road with his parents as they studied, photographed, and experience different cultures around the world. It was on one of these trips that his ability to communicate with animals first manifested. The child ended up helping to locate and save a family of endangered tigers from poachers.

It was at that time his father packed him up to live in learn in the main Goode household. Fearing that some of the superstitions held by the cultures they visited would put the boy in danger. Max now works part-time Game Warden while finishing his degree in Zoology. He is also responsible for the care and upkeep of the Ancestral Crows.

Abilities: Max can communicate with, command, and occasionally shape shift into certain animals. With the latter ability, he has to have an in-depth knowledge of that animal. A drawback of this ability is that he sometimes falls prey to his more animalistic urges when connected to an animal for too long. Like most witches, he had a mastery of potion making and spell work on top of his gift.

Meet Max.

He’s on probation for a year but he doesn’t regret a thing.

Max was walking home late one night when he heard a commotion. Taking one of his headphones out of his ear, he went after the source of the noise. He, unfortunately, stumbled upon a man trying to force himself on a younger woman and promptly reacted. He interrupted the scene by attacking the assailant but after a brutal fight, Max was the one who ended up in court. Justice was not on Max’s side and he is currently on probation if he breaks the conditions of his sentence, he will end up in prison.
