Dwen quietly exited the train car with her bags,
she by no means packed light with a train case,
a carpet bag and two suitcases. She wasn’t too
crazy about being sent to the city to pursue her
education instead of the nursing school closer
to home. But, she’d played the waiting game
with her mother to the point her uncle had
convinced her in to let her attend nursing
school. Instead of her waiting for suitor that
wasn’t coming between tea parties and society dinners with her mother or helping her widower
brother raise children as an old maid teacher’s
assistant at her brothers. Dwen remember the
dark skinned woman for Cage’s wedding she
though, maybe she’d changed her hair because
she couldn’t seem to spot her. Despite that
she calmly straightened her suit trying to look
presentable and exited the car.
