Magi-Labyrinth of Magic: Ch.162, The Truth About Mogamett [Review]
I had a feeling that this was the clear issue with Mogamett ever since he was first introduced and as he was conducting the Ideology Reformation. Although he does have good intentions towards his fellow magicians, his traumatic experience with the non-magic folk have completely corroded his view of them.
Even Titus is giving into his view of the social caste system when he grants himpermission to bring Marga to the surface. It is just so disturbingly sad how he didn't see her as a poor little sick girl, but a stray pet to give his child to quell their displeasure. Thankfully Aladdin's perceptiveness allowed him to see the truth about Mogamett's feelings towards the Goi, and that that would allow him to continue to look into the bias relationship between the magicians and the Goi.
But aside from the darker notes of Mogamett's views and intentions, poor sweet Titus and Marga are getting wrapped around his finger as they enjoy being together and exploring the surface market. Damn them for their adorableness.
But sadly I feel that even Marga will be debased while she is on the surface. Just as those two merchants responded to Aladdin when he asked about the 5th Level District, they are likely to condescend her as lowly and as stupid as vermin. And when you think about the fact that they are in a place where Goi are really looked down upon, it may be that bringing her out of the district will be much worse.
Hopefully Aladdin will be able to stop that and snap Titus, Sphintus, and the 1 Kodors out of it before they are completely convinced of Mogamett's way of thinking...Although I assume the magician with Goi parents will likely be on his side since his parents are still at risk.
And from what it looks Aladdin will get a window of an opportunity to do just that through the Zemi Research Projects.
I noticed two subjects that would probably benefit Aladdin greatly for the future, but since he requires one that will allow him to carry out his mission, the best one that he must choose is Goi Research. By taking on that as his topic he will be able to gather more information about them. And if he could pry in a little further he might just find out more about the shadows of Magnoshtat and how they are treating/using the Goi.
...Although I can't help but wonder if maybe the person who gave that option to Aladdin may be someone who could help him get closer to the truth. I might be thinking into things a little too much, but from reading other manga, books, and plays, there are things you can not always take at face value. It could be that there are people within Magnoshtat, like Aladdin, trying to bring to light this deeply ingrained mindset of prejudice and inequality.
Let's hope Aladdin will not lose his two friend's help along the way, because it looks like his mission is going to get even more perilous as he challenges the system.
