[The alarms inside the cyclops starts blinking a dull blue a few times- then the radio turns on. A voice that sounds just like Ava speaking through it.]

Getting radio signals from his base was becoming a common occurrence but having one come directly to him from within his brand new cyclops gave Simon quite the jolt. At first he thought maybe it was those damn Warpers talking to each other again.

"Uh hi, yeah this is the Captain of the Nautilus how may I help you?"

A little humor wouldn't hurt. Going deeper into the ocean always terrified Simon, especially from what he had read about in those logbooks...

It was different for all of them. Some found solace from a cruel world within the confines of a convent. Others were isolated in their pulpits. Simon's heart was so deeply embedded in the church and yet his body was always so far away from it.

Cosette's question gets another gentle smile out of him. "You have to remember that every connection you make is a fleeting blessing." Eyes crinkle at the corner s as he smiles wider, remembering those that have shown him kindness in his travels. "People are put in our paths to...help. To support. Some are there in your low points but cannot stay once you pick yourself up again."

He nods, head bobbing with the gesture. "Lots of goodbyes. But I know they were there when I needed them...and that I was there when they needed me. It's a change of season just like anything else in this life—" A finger is raised, a nugget of wisdom about to be imparted, "It suits no one to mourn the summer when the winter comes because, eventually, the sun will come again."
